Rupert Ratsbane,Rat Catcher Extraordinaire at your service!! Rupert is the shire's very own beloved, esteemed, happy-go-lucky Rat Catcher. Rupert was born into a very nice and cheery, yet poor family. Then they all died from the hideous Black Plague when Rupert was merely a year old. Seemingly, everyone died except Rupert, who it just so turns out, is immune. It is not until many years later that Rupert will come across his long-lost half-sister, Kitty! Nothing pleases Rupert more than hearing that beautiful sound, "AHHHH!! A RAT!!" Humble as he is, Rupert comes off as a peasant at first but is not very poor at all. In fact, there is good money in catching rats (and setting them free in the right places if you know what I mean) I mean uh *cough* what? Rupert rather enjoys being a peasant. Among convorting with his fellow peasants (definitely NOT thieves!!) Rupert likes eating, long walks through the Mayor's garden with a certain someone (definitely NOT Gabby!!), getting lost in the Enchanted Forest, telling stories with his best mate Rob the Thie--uh...Rob the Most Upstanding Good Citizen of the Shire (of whom can be seen below), eating, leading angry mobs around the village, eating, flirting with peasant dancers, thinking up new ways to catch rats, avoiding Duke Farafax, eating, dancing in drum circles, posing for pictures, and of course, CATCHING RATS! Rupert can usually be seen carrying around a rather tall staff with a cage on top and a rat inside. That's Percy. Percy has been dead for 3 years. When approached with a situation somewhat uncomfortable, Rupert suddenly identifies his nose with that unmistakeable odor of a nearby rat that needs catching. It is rumored that Rupert was the sole one responsible for the mysterious dissappearance of many girls and boys of Hollygrove, due to a magical flute. But that is nonsense. Only once has Rupert actually caught the Elusive Golden Rat, and he has presented it to the Queen for her Majesty's Royal Eating Time. Rupert does hope she enjoyed it. |
